Create and sustain a dynamic following on Instagram

With its ever-expanding reach, social media permeates nearly every aspect of our daily lives. Yet, despite having the opportunity to connect with people across the globe, it’s rare that we use this ability to its full potential. As a growing artist, it’s important to understand who your target audience is and how and when to connect with them. You need to spend time researching their hobbies, tendencies, and interests. For example, if you want to build a following in London, you might consider the time of day to post based on your current time zone, using additional location related hashtags, or posting a particular content type that the audience seems to favour. Posting a video of a new song may hold more value than posting a picture of the album artwork to certain audiences. And while content can be shared through a variety of platforms, Instagram has proved itself to be one of the most important tools in building and maintaining an international audience, given their 500 million plus active daily users.
