Based in New York City, The Digilogue has created a hub for creatives to bask in. From having panels on the newest technology in the entertainment industry to introducing you to hip, new artists, The Digilogue has managed to expand to become a well-known, innovative community in New York. The Digilogue was founded by Drew de Leon and Medvis Jackson, who both specialize in different tasks to propel The Digilogue into a bigger hub than it already is. This summer, creatives from the 5 boroughs of the city gathered at their chic WeWork office to celebrate their efforts with creative and technological progression. With a summer session with loads of chill music to vibe to, New York pizza, and people of diverse backgrounds from cities all over as well, this event was an absolute success.

Entering the eccentric place, I was welcomed by a member of The Digilogue and was quickly signed in to get to networking with other inventive geniuses. This Summer Session event was all about networking and leaving with new support. Starting off, we were all directed to a table where we wrote our names down on a sticker and then attached a sticker to represent the category that best fits us. You were able to choose from one of these categories: music lover, technology entrepreneur, or musicians. As a group of us decided which category we best fit in, we were eased by the tunes that DJ Fab Roc played. Along with engaging with the people there in the crowd, it was also important for us to pay attention to the 3 excellent DJs that played, as well as a stunning new artist named Abir. The 3 DJs included DJ Fab Roc, NVR Sleep, and RIZR.A lot of us had gone to the event alone, including me, so I was motivated to find some new friends. I bumped into another avid music listener from Tennessee and we quickly exchanged names and began talking about our music interests, how we got into music, and some of our favourite artists. Soon after that, our group was getting larger as more and more people had such interesting input into the conversation already going on. While we all enjoyed our conversation and pizza, our attention was quickly drawn towards the energy of the DJs as they kept the party going. Meeting people from Tennessee, Columbia, Jamaica and more gave us all a united feel on how music and technology can bring people together even in a city this grand.  Soon after we all mixed and mingled, we were all told to huddle up towards the centre to see the new singer, songwriter, Abir. With such intimate and warm settings, Abir was able to interact with the audience very well. She sang a couple songs, flexed with her angelic vocals, and managed to take us to another world with her tunes. Afterwards, there was a ticket giveaway with the ticket we were given at the door to an amazing event in NY which elevates women in music. After the performance and giveaway, we all scattered ourselves through the contemporary venue, which gave us all another chance to make more friends. Drew came around and as he does best, he connected me to a group of people and then went on to connect others. It’s safe to say that this event was no less than a success. The Digilogue has proven itself to be an ever-expanding, admirable family of creatives including people from not only New York but from different countries and cities all around the world. Even if you left with just one new connection from this event, it’s the start of building a network full of supportive people. The next event, which will be a panel will take place sometime in the fall. I hope to see you there.
