1Band 1Brand: Connecting brands and artists
It can be difficult for both brands and artists to find their next ideal collaboration just by looking online. Using this as a driving factor, 1Band 1Brand launched with an aim to be a matchmaker and more for brands and emerging entertainers. Being the bridge between both parties, they look to make the collaboration seeking process easier by recommending artists and brands to each other, as well as customers.
1Band 1Brand’s start
From organizing events in influential music cities around America including New York and Miami, to putting together shows and other events at SXSW, 1Band 1Brand is making way for a new outlook on two of the most important industries. Having their foot already in the fashion and music industries, the founders of 1Band 1Brand work to build a stronger bridge between the two industries. Founder, Brady Sadler sums up how important music and brand collaborations are with one ideal example. In an interview with Medium, he states how a company such as Vitamin Water would need to emphasize the release of new flavours in a unique way because marketing it simply through signs just won’t be enough. He mentions that if you’re simply talking about the next flavour, you won’t win over as many people as you would like. However, if you collaborate with an artist for that same task, artists have the ability to engage with an audience like no other. As Sadler says, “This is where artists, who devote their life to engaging with people on multiple levels through the content they create, come in. Artists are the best storytellers, which makes them a perfect partner for brands”.
Working together
With specific focuses on music and fashion, 1 Band 1 Brand goes out of its way to show the importance both have in each other’s careers. Brands, especially fashion brands, come into play in an artist’s career from styling them for shows, publicity, and more. For a brand, artists come in when they have to promote a new collection, a fashion show, or anything within that realm. They collaborate with the artist to set up an epic performance to fit the vibe of their creations. From there on out, the focus on their relationship is key because they both promote each other’s creations in their own unique ways. Looking at the similarities between the music and fashion industries, you’ll notice how they both heavily rely on each other from commercials to promoting in general. They go hand in hand and prosper best when put together in a partnership, or collaboration.
True promotion
1Band 1Brand refuses to allow unhealthy collaborations where artists lose sight of their brand due to the company they are now working with. With a free subscription, they urge artists to utilize their site to guide them in the right direction where they don’t have to compromise too much of their craft. How it works is that they use a database to send out emails on a weekly basis to keep their customers in the loop with the hottest brands and artists. Each week, their site and email newsletter goes out introducing customers to one band and one brand. Within that newsletter, they mention updates on you including new merchandise, new music, while they cover the daily deals and more with the brands. Usually, for fashion brands, they offer discounts and promotions while for the artists, they offer a pay your own price download feature. Their purpose to introduce both an emerging brand and a rising band in the same breath is the chance to cross-pollinate audiences and maximize your reach, as well as the brand’s reach. Not only will you be mixing audiences, but from that, both parties may become intrigued enough to collaborate on a new project.
1Band 1Brand shifts the way that brands and artists collaborate by introducing each other, as well as introducing them to a new group of people. Engaging with your audience is crucial, and who could be better at engaging with an audience than an emerging artist like you.
